Job Description The post-holder will join the Miguel-Aliaga lab, currently using Drosophila melanogaster to investigate the signals, cells and mechanisms mediating brain-gut interactions. The post-holder will be able to concentrate on a project of choice involving molecular, cellular and/or metabolic aspects of intestinal homeostasis and/or communication between the digestive tract and other internal organs.
Qualification Applicants should have a PhD (or be in the final stages of completing one) in a relevant discipline, and at least some of the following attributes: training in cell biology, metabolism, neurobiology and/or Drosophila genetics, a strong publication record, creativity and good interpersonal skills. Applicants should be highly motivated with an open and organized mind, capable of both thinking outside the box and paying attention to detail.
