| Job Description | A PhD position is vacant for a candidate with an interest in the composition and function of RNA metabolic complexes (the RNA exosome and the nuclear pore complex) in human cells. The project will focus on further developing a high-throughput interaction screening approach to explore the composition of ‘natural’ and ‘aberrant’ protein complexes in comparative inter-actomic studies. Candidate proteins from aberrant complexes will be selected for screening to identify antagonists to complex formation (e.g. by RNA SELEX or phage display approaches). The project is collaborative with laboratories at The Rockefeller University in New York, USA, to where exchanges during the program should be expected. |
| Qualification | The successful candidate will possess a strong interest in human cell biology, protein biochemistry, and RNA processing. Practical experience in any of these areas, in particular cell culture and protein analysis techniques (e.g. chromatography, SDS-PAGE), is a plus. |
| How to Apply | Mail letter of motivation, credentials and 3 references to Centre Director, Torben Heick Jensen, Centre for mRNP Biogenesis and Metabolism (www.mRNP.dk), Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, DK-8000 Aarhus C, Denmark, Tel.: +45 6020 2705, e-mail thj@mb.au.dk
