| Job Description | Two postdoctoral fellowships are available in the laboratory of Oliver Einsle in Freiburg. Funded by the European Research Council (ERC), we will dissect and analyze bacterial metabolic pathways of environmental relevance. Our goal is to combine a synthetic biology refactoring approach with extensive biochemical analysis in order to understand the intricate biosynthetic pathways of some of the most complex biological metal centers known in nature. The knowledge gained will be used to re-assemble and optimize enzymes for use as metabolic modules in prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts. |
| Qualification | The candidates have received training and gained experience in state-of-the-art molecular cloning and gene assembly techniques, ideally in a Synthetic Biology context. Experience is desirable in protein biochemistry (in particular with respect to recombinant protein production and chromatographic purification), in UV/vis and/or EPR spectroscopy and protein crystallization. |
| How to Apply | Please send your application with a short synposis of your previous research work, cv, list of publications and two references to the contact address. |
