| Job Description | Endocytosis is an essential process by which proteins, macro molecules and pathogens can enter a cell. No matter how a protein enters the cell, it will be transported to the early endosome, which serves as a sorting station. One pathway goes via the late endosome to the lysosome. We have identified a switch for the transition from early to late endosomes (Poteryaev et al., EMBO 2007, Cell 2010). The aim of the project to understand the mechanism how sorting at early endosomes is connect to endosome maturation. |
