International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw
ul. Ks. Trojdena 4
|Job Description||The main goal of the project is to apply various experimental methods (from biochemical probing to crystallography) to determine and analyze 3D structures of RNAs and protein-RNA complexes. Targets for the structure determination are selected based on bioinformatics predictions of RNA structures with novel architectures.
The project will involve extensive collaboration between bioinformaticians (data analysts) and experimentalists (biochemists and crystallographers). You will join a well-equipped and well-funded laboratory, whose research bridges the fields of experiment and theory in molecular and structural biology. The project will be carried out in the Bujnicki laboratory in collaboration with the Nowotny laboratory in IIMCB.
This position is for 3 years, starting January 1, 2014 (pre-application enquiries from prospective candidates are encouraged)
|Qualification||essential: PhD in computational, natural of life sciences; experience in macromolecular structural biology.
preferred: experience in biochemistry of RNA, experience in crystallography (ideally both for RNA and proteins), experience in bioinformatics would be a plus.
An ideal candidate for this position is a macromolecular crystallographer with experience in protein/nucleic acid biochemistry (in particular in RNA biochemistry), crystallization, and crystal structure determination.
Good command of English (written and spoken) is absolutely essential.
