Job Description We are looking for postdoctoral scientists to join our multidisciplinary team investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms controlling the development of inhibitory circuits in the cerebral cortex (see, Fazzari et al., Nature 464: 1376, 2010; Sánchez-Huertas and Rico, Cerebral Cortex 21 (4): 777, 2011).

Funding is available for an initial period of two years, with salary according to experience.
Qualification Candidates should hold a PhD in neuroscience.

-1 postdoctoral position for candidates with background in electrophysiology. Candidates with background in electrophysiology in vivo are particularly encouraged to apply.

-1 postdoctoral position for candidates with background in Molecular Biology. A good understanding of microarray analysis, cell sorting, biochemistry, cell biology, DNA technology and/or knowledge in genetic manipulation are desirable.

The successful applicants are expected to contribute to the analysis of genes involved in neuronal circuit function using loss and gain of function strategies combined with optogenetics in mice.
How to Apply Applicants should send an email to Beatriz Rico (brico@umh.es) including: (1) Motivation letter (2) CV, with a separate list of publications; and (3) contact information of two persons from whom references could be requested.
