Job Description Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in the Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry group of Dr Jeroen Krijgsveld at EMBL in Heidelberg. The project is a collaboration with the German Cancer Institute (DKFZ) and uses quantitative proteomics to study the differentiation of haematopoietic stem cells. Using mouse models, and combining proteomics with cell biology, genomics and bioinformatics, we aim to analyse and compare various FACS-sorted cell populations to elucidate the mechanism of quiescence and activation of haematopoietic stem cells. The general research interest in our lab is in mass spectrometry-based proteomics applied to developmental biology and transcriptional regulation in a variety of organisms, with tight links to various lines of research in collaborating labs. Our newly equipped lab features state-of-the-art resources in mass spectrometry and computation
Qualification Applicants should hold a PhD degree and should have broad experience in mass spectrometry. The ideal candidate has experience in LC-MS in proteomics, with a background in biochemistry, analytical chemistry or a related discipline. For this position, a proven interest in biology is essential, while skills in bioinformatics and programming are distinct assets. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to integrate successfully into an interdisciplinary and international team. Fluency in English is required.
How to Apply To apply, please email a cover letter, CV (in English) and contact information of three professional references quoting ref. no. LV/10/PD/008 in the subject line, to application@embl.de.
