Job Description Sabanci University, a private university located in Istanbul, offers an outstanding research environment with excellent and internationally competitive facilities (www.sabanciuniv.edu). Biological Sciences and Bioengineering Program invites applications for post-doctoral positions in molecular and cell biology. Successful candidates will work in Gozuacik Lab, in an ambitious, internationally competitive and dynamic research project funded by the “European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO)”.

Gozuacik Lab is an active member of the International Cell Death Society, International autophagy community, EMBO-Young Investigators (EMBO-YIP) Network (http://www.embo.org/programmes/yip.html) and Inproteolys EU network.

Research in our lab mainly focuses on mammalian stress responses, especially autophagy regulation, apoptosis-autophagy connection, autophagy as a protein degradation mechanism and autophagy abnormalities in human diseases (such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases). Successful candidates will apply state-of-the-art methods of cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry to identify and characterize novel genes, proteins and signaling pathways regulating mammalian autophagy.
