Through a series of international surveys, the MORE study (Mobility and Career Paths of EU Researchers) produced a wealth of information on the extent to which researchers in universities, research organisations and industry are internationally mobile, the motivating factors and barriers to mobility, the extent of inter-sectoral mobility, as well as the positive link between student mobility and researcher mobility.

EUROTRANSBIO opens the 5th Transnational Call for Proposals on the October 1st 2009. The strategic objective of the 5th ETB call is to foster the competitive capacity Europe’s biotechnology industry by supporting the research intensive SMEs and their strategic partnerships.

The ERC has announced the outcome of its first competition for the ERC Starting Grant scheme. The ERC hopes to fund some 300 of these already prioritised quality proposals, representing 32 nationalities of PIs and around 170 host institutions in 21 countries. The average age of successful grantees is 35 and 26% are women.
