This award is for researchers who have achieved a highly remarkable and internationally regarded result in basic research on vascular diseases such as hypertension, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and so forth. The award is established in 1985, in celebration of the memory of Dr. Kozo Okamoto who had established spontaneously Hypertensive Rat (SHR).

How to apply: Only by recommendation, please send letter of nomination Brief curriculum vitae of candidate Summary of candidates research List of publications and rReprints of some major work, using a set of formats fixed by the foundation. Please ask the Secretariat to send it to recommender. Selection decision: Chosen by the selection committee of the foundation and decided at Board of Directors Meeting. Persons concerned will be notified of the decision late In January 2008. The award ceremony is to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, June 20, 2008 during 13th international SHR Symposium official satellite to International society of hypertension awardees will be invited to the ceremony.
